Four Winns – over 55 years of American boating

The history of Four Winns dates back to the 1950s. George Spicer, owner of a furniture store, was initially a dealer for Clipper Craft boats. In 1962, he acquired the entire company and relocated production from Indiana to Michigan, where he continued to operate in the small town of Cadillac under the name Saf-T-Mate Boat Company.

After Spicer retired in 1975, four members of the Winn family took over the shipyard: Bill Winn Senior and his three sons John, Bill Junior, and Charlie. A new name was needed, and what could be more fitting than “Four Winns”? After several changes of ownership, Four Winns has been part of the Beneteau Group since 2014.
